The season of the 1980 Kardiac Kids will forever be one of the most exciting and memorable in the 61-year history of the Cleveland Browns. For the players, coaches, and the Cleveland Browns fans it was a season of promise and hope - a season of destiny. Though the season ended in a heartbeat, in a moment of despair, it is the lifetime of memories of this “magical season” and the stories of the players and coaches then and now which I will capture in this book.
If I had a dollar bill for the each time I have been asked about the January 4, 1981 playoff game against the Raiders and Red Right 88, I'd be a rich man today. “Why didn't we kick? Would you have made the kick? How cold was it?”
We will discuss these questions, Red Right 88 and the coldest game in Cleveland Browns history; however, it is the season, the players, coaches, the last second game-winning plays, and the many heart-throbbing moments that shall never be forgotten.
To make this book complete, I have solicited the help of my teammates,
coaches, opponents, and a few special contributors. However, this
book would not be complete without the memories and stories of the
best fans in the world -- the Cleveland Browns Fans!
